Well it's that time once again, folks! When we get to take a look back at the most watched WttW uploads of the past year, and reflect on some of the amazing underground talent that YOUR world has to offer. Keep in mind, this is only
10 out of many videos that were released by us in 2014, and this list just scratches the surface of whats out there waiting to be discovered, so make sure you do yourself a favor and check out the other artists featured on the Official WttW YouTube Channel. Hailing from the mitten and beyond, these are the ones that keep the fire burning. A fire that is just itching to smolder out if we don't all do our parts to keep it going. For us here at Welcome to this World Video Productions, we've certainly struggled with trying to keep this tiny entity afloat, but we have most definitely grown exponentially during that time, and are thankful for every moment of it. We are very confidant in our work these days, and we hope we can continue to refine our skills through experience, as we try our best to help local artists get some spotlight through top quality HD video. Ultimately though, it is up to all of us to keep this thing moving forward. It's comparable to the circle of life, with the bands, the fans, the venues, the photographers/videographers, the promoters, ect., each part relying on the other to sustain it as a whole. We appreciate it all. So without further ado, here are the top 10 most viewed WttW videos of 2014, as chosen by you...

#10 - Diddy's Big B-Day Bash 2014
Feat. GutRot, Boreworm, Hokori + More
The 10th most watched WttW video of the year packs a super massive punch, as it is over an hour long, and features nine of some of the heaviest bands in the region. The mighty GutRot headlined, as well as performances by Boreworm, who also happened to win the opening slot onto last years Summer Slaughter tour, Manic Outburst, Hokori, Severing the Need, Hate Unbound, Carved Out, Ethereality and Domestic Terror, who all tore shit down at the small and inviting Road Rangers in Taylor, MI. Despite a few technical issues, the show really was a rager. This all went down March 17th, during "Diddy's Big B-Day Bash". For those who don't know, "Diddy" is Justin Lamerson from Diddybop Entertainment, who puts heavy ass shows together on the west side of metro Detroit, so hit him up if your band looking to play some shows.
"Intro/Peter Panic"
This year's number nine most watched WttW video is a young Michigan band named Expand Your Horizons, who play a version of metalcore with a progressive tinge. The group has had several lineup changes since we filmed this performance of them at Diesel Concert Lounge during a battle of the bands, including a new vocalist, but now they seem to have found a solid foundation, and already have future shows lined up. This video of them opening their set with a song titled "Peter Panic" also marks our very first time filming at Diesel, though we did have a sponsor booth there during Howie Herula's (Hard Edge Radio) always huge Fall Metal Fest six months prior. We hope to hear more from the EYH guys soon!
#8 - A Sleepless Malice
"Julz Rocks The Machine Shop (Full Set)"
"Julz Rocks The Machine Shop (Full Set)"
Our good friends in A Sleepless Malice took the 8th spot on the countdown, with a full set performance at the world famous The Machine Shop, during a benefit show put together by Shadows of Doubt front man, Shaun Pillen. This was our second time filming the ASM boys, and thankfully, we think it turned out excellent, as we felt we just weren't able to do them justice during our first go around at the now extinct 440 North Bar & Grill. On top of the poor lighting and sound that plagued the small venue, we just didn't have the proper equipment or editing skills at the time for that type of situation. Be sure to keep an ear out for new studio music from these guys in 2015!
"Texas Funeral"
We have filmed Demise of the Enthroned several times over the past few years, and in 2014 they snagged up the #7 spot on the WttW Top Ten, with a performance at The Machine Shop of their Kill Bill inspired song, Texas Funeral. This was filmed during a cancer benefit show for a very young Abbey Fontaine who is battling cancer. Though technically the video was released in late December of 2013, it was close enough to the new year to be considered for the 2014 list. This also marked the WttW debut of their new bassist, Dan Faulman, whose frenzied fingers danced all around the fretboard to accompany the on point drumming and guitars DOTE is known for. These guys are also working on recording new material for 2015.
#6 - ThorHammer
"Intro/The River"
#5 - Lord Humungus
"Intro/The River"
For the first time in WttW history, a non-Michigan based band made the yearly top 10 list, and that band is St. Louis, Missouri's ThorHammer! They traveled from the deep south, all the way up north to Rocky's Pub in Riverview MI in late August to play at the inaugural 'Michigan on Mute Fest', which featured over 50 national and local acts over the course of 3 days. They unleashed their tasty southern style thrash to the hungry Michigander metalheads early on in the day, who in turn seemed to really gobble it up, as the crowd made a steady stream to the stage throughout the ThorHammer set. Be sure to check 'em out next time they come through the mitten state!
"Parasite/Plagued By Darkness"
#4 - Vektor
The halfway mark on this years list is firmly occupied by Bay City progressive metal act, Lord Humungus, who despite being down a bassist for the night, still brought much pain to The Machine Shop, as seen clearly in this double header video featuring their songs, "Parasite" and "Plagued by Darkness". This was also the first time we incorporated some Go-Pro footage into our work, as guitarist Josh Natzel had brought his along and captured their opening song. As of today, they a currently looking for a new frontman, so hit them up if you think you have what it takes to lead this goliath of a group.
"Oblivion"
In late August, we had the extreme pleasure of filming one of the top progressive thrash metal acts in the world, as Philadelphia, PA's underground crown jewel, Vektor, co-headlined the Saturday portion of Michigan on Mute Fest 2014, along with Morbid Saint. It was our first time seeing a Vektor live performance, and they definitely showed us why they are so revered by fans, and other musicians. It's because they are so damn tight, and play such a unique style of metal. If you have the chance to see these guys live, you better jump on it, because that is some top tier shit right there.
#3 - Manic Outburst
"Beer on the Mosh Floor + More"
Detroit thrash act, Manic Outburst, makes a return to the yearly WttW top ten list, but this time they hardily mosh their way up from #8 last year, to a solidified spot as the 3rd most viewed video of 2014! You can really get a feel of what it's like to be at a M.O. show in this video of 3 songs that we captured during their performance at Michigan on Mute Fest 2104. The energy is comparable to a stampede of drunk, horny bulls plowing through a Mexican village, all fighting after a couple lonely heifers. Manic Outburst hasn't played live very much since this performance, because as like many others on this countdown, they are also working on new music for 2015, so beware!
#2 - Lord Humungus

#2 - Lord Humungus
"Pound of Flesh"
#1 - Vektor
"Cosmic Cortex"
Their is no denying the presence and pure heaviness of Lord Humungus, as they pummeled their way to the second most watched WttW video of 2014 with this live performance of their song "Pound of Flesh". Of course it didn't hurt that they were fronted at that time by The Machine Shop's own Aaron Whipple, and The Machine Shop is known the world over as a class act venue to play, especially amongst the metal crowds, so when they share a video on Facebook, people see it.
"Cosmic Cortex"
This year's coveted number one spot rightfully goes to the masters of sci-fi thrash, the mighty Vektor, with a phenomenal live performance of their song, "Cosmic Cortex". Vektor truly was the highlight of the night during the first ever Michigan on Mute Fest, and they definitely deserve every single one of the over 3,500 views the video has received since it's September premier. Honestly, this video should have ten times the views, but unfortunately being underground is really hard work, and you have to earn every single view you get. Congrats to the Philadelphia thrashers! It was our pleasure
to capture such an excellent performance, and we hope our paths will cross again in the future, even if it's a black one.
